All lessons are based on a 15 minute warm-up, 30 minutes of concentrated work, and a 15 minute cool down period for both horse and rider. Lessons are generally based on 1 hour , however, some lessons may require less and some lessons may require longer depending on that particular day and lesson. Foremost, Susie will teach you SAFETY & HORSEMANSHIP.
Horsemanship is the skill of being able to flawlessly control your ride and direct your horse through all of their gaits with no visible signs of effort or creating discomfort to the horse. Lessons will be fun and horses will always be happy.

With 40 years of show & pleasure experience, Susie is continuously learning herself. She can provide a great foundation if you are a first time horse owner yet at the same time, can pull together the most educated rider and horse if they are having issues. Susie takes great pride in her accomplishments of successfully bringing a horse and rider team together for show, pleasure, or public service.
Clients will be asked to list personal goals, horse education goals, and also specific areas that they need help with. As simple as, learning: "How do I properly and safely stand while cleaning out my horses hoof?", to as complex as "I am having trouble riding in a specific reigning/horsemanship pattern and my striding is off!"
Each client will have their own file in Susie's office which contains the initial riding evaluation, their personal list of goals, and the achievements they wish to accomplish. Susie's clients report regularly they have "Ah ha, moments!", where the light comes on and the point finally comes across.
Her secret is to explain things in a simple concise manner that every client can understand & experience first hand. Goals are reviewed periodically with her clients to determine where improvement is needed to meet their goals always keeping the safety of her rider and their horse in the forefront.
